Prioritizing Child Nutrition

The issue of nutrition in children under five years is still a serious problem in most cities in Indonesia. Adverse conditions, including malnutrition which was later revealed, could be prevented. Malnutrition is actually a problem that is not only due to poverty. Also due to socio-cultural aspects that exist in our society, resulting in actions that do not support the achievement of adequate nutrition for infants.

Examples of ways of thinking that does not support the nutrition of children come true with cigarette consumption by the male parent (father / father). There are many families in Indonesia whose children suffered malnutrition, but his father continued to smoke. Whereas the smoking habit that means spending money. A lot of money "burned" in vain when in fact can be used to buy food with adequate nutrition or to increase child nutrition.

These conditions are clearly cause for concern. Cultural factors as more important than a child's nutritional cigarettes is certainly should not be maintained for future generations we have a healthy, intelligent, and productive.

In the midst of this problem we realize that the only curative solution is not enough. We can not expect the problem of malnutrition can be fully addressed without solving the root of the problem. Therefore there must be promotive and preventive approach that could open up opportunities for community empowerment.
