Children's imaginary friends

For months, the three-year Ella Kuckes from Barrington, Rhode Island, insisted that his mother, Niki, quietly answered a knock at the door. "Tweety is outside," he said. Together they will open the door, and welcomed Ella into her imaginary friend to be invited to talk all afternoon. Preschoolers who like to socialize pleased when a friend, and if not, they will create it. Nearly half of all children in this world have imaginary friends, along with the development of imagination and their interest to theater. In addition, this imaginary playmate makes the child have a place to explore the world, including things that may be new or ticks.
If people in the real world your child can get sick or sad, so anything's possible with imaginary friends, so said Marjorie Taylor, Ph.D., author of Imaginary Companions and the Children Who Create Them. Because children master what is experienced by the imaginary friend, when 'the friend' managed by a frightening incident that could make them feel calm. If your child's imaginary friends go (many children say that the friends have moved away or even died), the other imaginary friends will probably be replaced for the next few years. If you introduce your child to the imaginary friend, what should you do?

Try to know the friend. Children love to, if parents pay attention to their creation. Ask your child to paint his friends, or join them in the game.

Let your child is responsible. Young children do not have much chance to organize the world around them, so do not try to talk to her imaginary friend, or say that he was sitting next to you before your child says so. Let the little ones who take the initiative.

Try to keep your child can still be arranged. Make sure he understands if you know that it was he, and not her friend, who play in mud. Then, if she does not want to eat green beans because of the Jimmy, imaginary friends do not like, firmly explain to them both, that all children in the house you should get enough vitamins! (*)
